HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A man was arrested after an armed robbery near Holland on Tuesday, deputies say.
It happened around 8:15 a.m. at Ryke's Bakery, located in the 600 block of Chicago Drive near Waverly Road in Holland Township, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said in a release. It said a man robbed the store at gunpoint and left with some cash.
A 25-year-old employee was in the store at the time, authorities say. She was not injured.

Suspect arrested after chase with stolen car near Portage

PAVILION TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A suspect was arrested after a high-speed chase with a stolen car near Portage on Tuesday.
Deputies saw the stolen car driving eastbound on N Avenue near South 29th Street in Pavilion Township around 9 a.m., the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office said in a release. The Portage Department of Public Safety had reported the car as stolen that morning.
The deputies tried to pull the car over, but it took off speeding, the sheriff's office said. It said in the 9000 block of East O Avenue near South 32nd Street, the driver got out of the car and ran into woods nearby.

Deputies: Man attacks 2 near Athens with BB pistol

ATHENS TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A man barged into a home north of Athens Tuesday morning and attacked two people, deputies say.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. at a home on Mulberry Avenue off of Q Drive S, west of M-66 in Athens Township.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says the man got into the home through an unlocked door, shot a woman "several times at close range with BB pistol." One of the victims also reported hit by the butt of the BB pistol. The suspect then drove off.
The two victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
