Bipartisan Group of Senators Introduce Legislation to Reform Law Trump Tried to Exploit to Overturn 2020 Election

A group of sixteen U.S. Senators introduced legislation to reform the 1887 Electoral Count Act - the act that then-President Donald Trump tried to exploit to remain in power.
The reform bill comes after months of negotiations led by Sens. Susan Collins and Joe Manchin who crossed the aisle to create legislation to stop any future presidents from repeating the events of Jan. 6, 2021, and attempting to the bend the Congress to stop the transfer of power.

Congressman Chip Roy complimented former Vice President Mike Pence as the Texas Republican and thanked him for fulfilling his duties on January 6 despite everything that happened that day.
Reporters for multiple outlets covered a Wednesday gathering on Capitol Hill where Pence met with the Republican Study Committee. While the meeting was held behind closed doors, sources who attended the gathering told reporters that Roy was “applauded” by his colleagues as he thanked Pence “for defending our Constitution.”

Arizona GOP Excommunicates Rusty Bowers After His Jan. 6 Committee Testimony on Trump's Attempt to Overturn the 2020 Election

The Arizona GOP Executive Committee declared Rusty Bowers “no longer a Republican in good standing” - as they announced their decision to censure the Arizona House Speaker.
Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward released a statement on Tuesday, saying Bowers “has lost the confidence of a majority of Republican Party leaders and his colleagues in the legislature in the State of Arizona,” therefore he is “unfit to serve the platform of the Republican Party and will of the voter of the Republican Party of Arizona.”
